Ittihad Paper Mill (IPM) is the first printing and writing paper mill in the GCC and the largest in the MENA region.
With a capacity of 320,000 tons annually (or the equivalent of 65 billion A4 sheets per year), IPM caters to the growing regional demand for printing and writing paper that is currently reliant on imports, while also serving the international markets.
The mill produces uncoated wood-free paper in reels, folio, and cut-size (more than 20 sizes including A4, A3, Letter and specialty sizes) of the highest quality on par with the leading global brands. IPM’s products are strictly in compliance with global environmental standards and sources pulp only from certified sustainable forests.
IPM invested in the latest production and sustainability technologies:
- Best-in-class paper production lines (Valmet, Finland)
- High efficiency and flexible sheeting lines (BW Paper Systems, Germany)
- Onsite Precipitated Calcium Carbonate plant (Omya, Switzerland)
- Effluent Treatment Plant (Veolia, France)
Coupled with the use of sustainably sourced pulp and local limestone, this ensures the highest quality paper is produced with zero process CO2 emissions and the highest energy and water efficiency.
The project is a strategic industrial investment, which is undoubtedly a landmark project in the region and a milestone in Abu Dhabi’s resolute economic vision.
